The Texas Rowing first varsity eight team, with coxswain Mary Cait McPherson, stroke Jen VanderMaarel, Felicia Izaguirre-Werner, Meg George, Nancy Arrington, Jelena Zunic, Karli Sheahan, Colleen Irby and Sara Cottingham, finished with a time of 6:44.7, defeating Duke which completed the race in 6:49.9. This was the second session of the Longhorn Invitational, Saturday morning, March 21, 2009 on Lady Bird Lake. They later won one more race against UCF on Sunday.
